Just to let anyone know who are going to be over in May they have said there is another launch on the 14th May. Good for us we should see this one. <:clap
I heard the last one going up will be September.
If you get the chance it is a sight to see, the atmosphere is great. How amazing it is to think something is flying into space.

We were lucky enough to catch a launch a few years ago. It was an amazing experience, especially as we were in the Space Park at Titusville, surrounded by lots of excited Americans. The atmosphere was electric. This was one of the first flights following the previous disaster, and so everyone was a little fearful. There was a great sense of relief as the launch went smoothly, and we felt quite emotional.
I quite agree with you, Mary, it is something you will never forget, so if you get the chance to go then do.

We drove down just over half way and pulled into the side of the road to watch the launch and managed to get a good view. Once again it was an awsome sight and to think it is part of our history is something else.
We took a friend who had no way of getting there and i was worried that a two hour drive (it was very busy) for something you see in about 30 seconds she would not be impressed, but as yet she has not stopped thanking me, so i guess it was as good as i thought.
Anyone over in September do try and see it.

We went to the launch on Friday and were glad we did not miss it. We had a good drive via the 50 and did not queue until the toll road joined us. We were not able to get tickets for the Space Centre but were able to get into the Hall of Fame. We wanted to see the Space Centre and have upgraded tickets so it has not cost us extra. We were able to get into the corner nearest the road and got a good view. It is an impressive sight to watch it take off. Traffic returning to Orlando was slow and it definitely took much longer to get back than get there.
I am back off to the Space Centre today to use the rest of my ticket but will later load one of the photos taken of the shuttle launch.

What a fantastic photo, JAF. The power of it is amazing, and set against that blue sky it is stunning.

Was lucky enough to view the launch from Titusville and the incredible lift off was fantastic but was was more amazing was witnessing the wait of 90 seconds for the sound to carry across the river.... WOW

I know what you mean Violet. The whole thing is over in seconds but the atmosphere is something to remember.
We have been lucky enough to see two now and both times it has given me goose bumps.
People are so friendly chatting away while waiting for the launch as well, a guy from Atlanta was filming and he filmed us just to say we stood with him to watch an amazing site.

Yes it is truly an awesome sight. We have seen 4 now and have really enjoyed the atmosphere each one, especially when we have someone with us that haven't seen one before. We always go to Jetty Park.
