Star Wars Weekends 2010

For all those Star Wars fans you need to put these dates in your diary:-

Once again, the magic of Disney and the power of the force combine for Star Wars Weekends. The family-friendly fan-fest is scheduled for four consecutive weekends in May and June at Disney's Hollywood Studios (previously Disney-MGM Studios) theme park. The sci-fi fun kicks off May 21, 2010 and continues each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through June 13, 2010.
Serving as the centerpiece of the celebration will be the park's famous Star Tours thrill ride, along with a galaxy of Star Wars fun featuring trivia games, game shows, meet-and-greet and star conversations with Star Wars legends.

Guests are encouraged to join the fun by dressing in their favorite Star Wars-inspired apparel and costumes. Event activities are included in regular admission to the Disney-MGM Studios theme park.

I have never been but they do get some of the original actors from the films there.

My oldest daughter is the hugest Star Wars fan, but we always miss this because it never runs past when my kids get done with school. We usually go down mid to late June every year and seem to always get there the week-end after it ended. I wish they would extend it!

Did you know that you can get your children into the parade?

If you want your child in the parade, you need to go near the Star Wars Weekend Information Desk at around 10am, and then look for a Disney employee handing out wristbands for the parade.

You can also get celebrity autographs, but you have to be early as you need a Fastpass - you need to get it as soon as the park opens. Once you have a Fastpass you are guaranteed an autograph, but they do go very fast, so being early is the key to success.

It will also be the last time you can ride the original Star Wars attraction. This brilliant simulator ride is due to close in October, ready for its transformation into Star Wars II.
