The construction of this new "theme park within a theme park" is well under way now and should be completed in early 2010. It promises to be something really special with many of the people that worked on the Harry Potter movies having their input in the design of the new attraction. It is located in the Universal Studios "Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando." You can see the work so far carried out here http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/orl-universalharrypotter-pg,0,5534426.photogallery

Here is a video showing the progress

As yet we've never been to Universal at all so this is a great incentive as we are all big HP fans -can't wait!

You mean you've never been to SHREK? You don't know what you have missed, Jo-anne. <:wink Brilliant attraction, one of my favourites, apart from Spiderman.

Oh, Jo-Anne, there is so much you have missed! I personally think that the Universal parks are better than Disney, but perhaps that may be heresy!! While I love all that Disney has to offer, the rides in Universal are brilliant.

Both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure have so much to offer, especially for older children who might think that Disney is just too "young" for them.

the new Simpsons ride is a real hoot , I thought it was shame when they closed back to the future , but the simpsons made up for it .

sad when they shut King Kong though as I really loved it .

We've been to Universal Studios (love it) but have yet to hit Islands of Adventure. Now that my kids are older, we'll be heading there next visit especially for the Harry Potter ride. My kids are all HUGE Harry Potter fans and are waiting anxiously for this!

'Back to the Future' was the first simulator ride I had ever been on and I was absolutely petrified - spent the whole time with my eyes shut tight. Silly really as now I love all the simulators.

We liked King Kong, too. <:cry

Still, with Harry Potter World to come there will be plenty to take its place.
