Which version did you watch, Mary? The original one from 1947 or the more recent one with Richard Attenborough?
I love both, but probably like the Richard Attenborough one best as he makes such a wonderful, and believable Father Christmas.

I do love some of the oldie Christmas Movies too, "It's a wonderful life" with James Stewart is another favourite of mine. Having said that I like some of the newer ones too, like "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" that always makes me chuckle <:widegrin Has anyone seen the new "Christmas Carol" with Jim Carey yet? Just wondered what it was like.

How could you forget 'The Great Escape?' That was a regular feature of our Christmas Day watching! Wonder if they still put it on....

Looks like a very funny movie, Steve.
We love Steve Martin films, he is such a riot. We are looking forward to his new film, 'It's Complicated,' with Meryl Streep, due for release on December 25th.

Steve, I caught part of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation just before Christmas and was in stitches. I was particularly looking out for the turkey scene, when he cuts it and it explodes leaving a steaming shell. Just had a look at your clip again, and it is SO funny.
I hope it is repeated next Christmas so I can see the bit I missed!

Has anyone seen 'Its Complicated' yet? We are looking forward to seeing it.
Watched the DVD 'Gran Torino' last night. I rarely sit and watch anything all the way through but this was riveting. Very unusual and not what I expected, and Clint Eastwood was awesome. Can't believe he is 80 and still directing, producing AND performing in films. The music his son wrote was haunting, too.

I haven't seen "It's Complicated" but I did see "Gran Torino" not long ago and I agree it was riveting. I too have a hard time watching a full movie in one sitting, but this one held me to the end.

It's odd, that, isn't it, when you think how old Clint Eastwood is, but he still has such power to hold an audience riveted. It was the perfect part for him.
