I am not a roller coaster fan, but in my ignorance, and with much encouragement from my two children (little beasts!) I was persuaded to try Space Mountain, the first time we visited Magic Kingdom, some years ago.
What can I say? I hated every minute of it, and was utterly petrified. Actually, I am pleased to say that my children spent more time worrying how I was, than enjoying the ride, as I was screaming so loudly.
So whatever possessed me to repeat the performance the next time we went I shall never know. Maybe, like childbirth, I had forgotten how awful it was. Or maybe it was senile dementia. Whatever it was, I came off it and the lady in front said 'are you ok?' so I must have looked like death.
But having said that, millions of people DO love Space Mountain, and even small children seem to come off it smiling, so don't be put off by me!
However, it has been shut for some time for upgrading, and it is to reopen on November 22nd. It is actually the oldest roller coaster in Florida, so it was due for an update. All I can say is that it looks very 'blue' as the 'Starport' is filled with blue LED lights. Apparently, there is new theming, queue enhancements and coaster technology improvements.
So all you roller coaster fans only have to wait until November 22nd!
And will I be one of the first to ride it?
No way! I shall leave that to my children who can't wait! <:wink
