Arrived at Gatwick in nice time and just went through into Duty Free and within 1 minute the fire alarm went off and we were evacuated. :(

After about 20 minutes we were allowed back into the terminal so I went to get a coffee and then popped to get Jai some aftershave and low and behold the fire alarm went off again. Had to evacuate but after hearing from someone that the last evacuation was due to some idiot smoking in the toilets <:angry I decided to walk to the Gate as we were 1/2 hour from take off. I thought we would be evacuated at the gate but there was a queue of people boarding so I joined the queue - I was sure we would be delayed but we went on time.

Upon landing at MCO, at passport control my fingerprints didn't match <:embarr so I was escorted to a side room - they are sooo miserable these passport guys and you feel like a criminal.

Sat around for 10 mins with the occasional question and then they did my fingerprints again and let me go.

Got car from Budget, ordered a compact and had a free upgrade to Intermediate <:wink I got a PontiacG6 which is soooo lovely, very smoothe and such a nice drive.

Was at the villa with 45 mins of leaving airport so had a very easy drive.

As you can see I am up with the lark and looking forward to my first sunny day in 2 months.

Hope Shirls had a good journey.

Yes thanks Sandra, managed to 'sort of' sleep for a few hours to pass the time so the flight was ok. We also had an upgrade to a red G6 with 5 miles on the clock. Had a long drive to St Augustine, mainly due to the fact we managed to go the wrong way after the 417 joined the I4 and headed south for a bit <:embarr but we arrived in the rain to such a pretty place. Looking forward to having a look around:)

Did you get evacuated at Gatwick Shirley?

Very easy to go the wrong way out here - I've done it a few times.

Our MC have said I can borrow their TomTom whilst I am here, so hopefully I won't get lost with that!!

It's cold her - I can't believe it - 65 high predicted for today :(

Glad you have both arrived safely, but sorry to hear it is so cold (<:wink). You have obviously forgotten what COLD really is! <:lol Think you need to get back here IMMEDIATELY for a refresher.

I agree Ellie - it's so cold and wet here yuk!!!!

Have a great time in St Augustine - the tourbus is a must, the area is stooped in history and you are well informed.

I've only been home 3 weeks and soooo wish I was back in florida!!!!!<:micky

Thankfully the weather is set to improve tomorrow and back to high 70s by the weekend. It was a bit chilly on the trolly tour, but I had so many layers on that I could hardly move my arms! No where near as cold as home, but I don't have my boots, woolly socks and thick coat. Went into lots of little shops to keep warm. <:lol

We left from the north terminal Sandra, so no alarms for us, just a glass of something bubbly in the lounge <:widegrin

Its been horrid here, today. Just got the kids out in the playground and it started to rain, so in they all came.:(

Oh it's alright for some :p

Sun is now peeping through the clouds.

I had to go to Walmart and buy a jumper as I only brought vest tops and tee shirts with me.

Still it amused Kyle as when we got home he cut the tag off the top for me and it was a childs age 7 -9 years!! It fits lovely so they must have big 7 year olds round here <:confused

Glad you both got there ok, i'm sure it will warm up again soon. It always makes me smile how the locals rave about these cooler temperatures. They say it's great they can turn off the a/c, open the windows etc, but I don't want that I want to sweat!! :)

Me too Steve, I don't do 'too hot'. The sun is shining today though and the prediction is for mid 70s (or just 70 in St Augustine, but going to the villa today) so all is well <:widegrin

We also have woken to sunshine - still a bit nippy but we're predicted 70 today and getting warmer for weekend :)
