We have not been to Daytona Beach recently and wondered what it was like now. Has anyone visited it recently?

We drove down to Daytona a few years ago with the children, and my husband thought it would be cool to park on the beach - like all the other people.

We had a great afternoon, jumping about in the surf but as the tide started coming in we decided it was time to make a move...... but unfortunately, the more my husband tried to reverse out of the sand the deeper we sank.

Panic was beginning to set in when a kind gentleman came over and asked if we needed any help. Sheepishly my husband had to admit that he could not get us out of the sand.

No problem, said the guy. Get out and I will do it for you.

Two minutes later our expert had us back on track....... I am afraid my husband suffered plenty of ribbing for the rest of the holiday about it. <:lol

Well, he was the guy who rents out parasols and deckchairs so he is on the beach every day, so he must have had a lot of experience - probably a lot of experience of digging out Brits, too!

I guess its all about clutch control, Patty...<:wink

We have parked on there a couple of times and found the sand to be very hard where we parked. Perhaps you got a softer bit ellie :)

Well, Steve, knowing my husband, he must have found the only bit of soft sand in the area! <:doglol
