Oh wow, after 3 aborted attempts to see it in June and July... will I be lucky this time?????
We arrive on the 11th and will be in St Augustine on the 12th, not the closest, but I just want to see it :)

Fingers crossed, then Shirley! Depends really how long you are over there for as it may be delayed. In fact we might see it if it IS delayed.

It is well worth seeing, though, if you get the chance.

I recommend Titusville as a great vantage point but get there very early and don't expect a quick exit!

We watched a shuttle launch from the Space View Park, which was really easy. There is a big car park beside it and a group of local enthusiasts usually set up loudspeakers so you can listen in to the countdown. When we went they were selling food and drink as well as memorabillia. There is also a nice cafe within walking distance where we got breakfast.

We did not find the traffic heavy. In fact we were very surprised at how easy it was to get there and back. We had to go twice as the first time the countdown was stopped shortly before take off. Maybe it depends on the time of day the launch takes place?
