Did you know that a toy Buzz Lightyear spent four months at the International Space Station and has recently returned to earth?
He will be joined by Buzz Aldrin and Mike Fincke, the famous astronauts, in a special ticker tape parade at Magic Kingdom on October 2nd, 2009. The parade will start at 2.30 and will travel down Main St, before the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade.
You can get the chance of meeting Buzz Aldrin as he is going to do a book signing at Exposition Hall from 4-5 pm. He has written several books about his experiences. Mike Fincke will participate in a question and answer session at the Disney Story Theater from 4 -5 pm.
If you are in the area and can manage to visit Magic Kingdom that day it would certainly be a magical experience to meet the man who was the pilot of the Apollo 11 Lunar module, which made the first lunar landing. In fact, he was the second person to step on the moon, after his commander, Neil Armstrong. As these astronauts get older the chance to see them 'in the flesh' will get fewer and fewer, so this is a rare opportunity.
