Does anyone know if the general public are allowed to fish in the lake at Celebration? When we were there last time we sat in the rocking chairs and watched some fishermen as they caught lots of fish. It seemed like a great place to do just that, but wondered if you had to have a licence.

We took these photos of the fishermen and the fish they caught.

We saw some night fishermen when we were there in August but they were locals so I suppose they would have had a licence.

Ellie, the fish in photo 3 looks so sad :(

Bet you would, Sandra if you were swimming along, minding your own business when a great big hook got stuck in your mouth! <:lol

We were so glad they threw all the fish straight back in the lake, but I must admit I do feel sorry for the poor things as some of them must keep getting caught. Guess its true that fish have very short memories so each time they see a wiggling worm they don't think 'hey, better give that one a miss, I got hooked last time!' but simply gobble it up.

They look like sunfish which we catch here in Lake Erie and throw back. They're not good for anything! I wonder what other kinds of fish are in that lake.

We were told they were blue gills. If you look at the gill area there is a dark patch which looks like an 'ear' but which is the opercular flap, or gill cover.

We can also catch them in the beautiful Lake Davenport on our estate, where we have a fishing dock. We often wander down to watch the wildlife, and some of our guests have managed to catch them with just 'spam' as bait - the meaty sort of course, not the emailed sort!<:lol
