We have a family membership to a Science Center nearby which offers reciprocal priveleges to Science Centers all across the U.S. Our family has always enjoyed taking time out for some educational fun during our travels. Orlando Science Center offers an enjoyable alternative to the usual theme park activity! There are many permanent exhibits including Body Zone, Natureworks, and Dr. Dare's Laboratory which offer interactive hands-on kiosks and activities. Another permanent exhibit, Dino Digs, is actually sponsored by Disney who have donated a collection of fossils and replicas. There's also a plantetarium (always a favorite of ours) that offers varied programs - you can check the schedule on the website or call the museum.
