For those who are going to Florida for the first time Downtown Disney is a great FREE place to go especially in the evening. The area is covered with great shops, restuarants, bars and places to just sit and watch the world go by.
Downtown Disney also houses the Cirque du Soleil, Planet Hollywood, Disney Quest and Pleasure Island
We visit everytime we go, even if we dont actually visit a Disneypark as it still gives you that Disney feeling without having to pay the entrance to get into a park.
And for those who have booked through Virgin there is a place where you can book leave your cases and check into your flight if you have to leave your accomodation early, giving you extra time to look around the shops before you head to the airport:(

Absolutely agree. There is lots going on for younger children as well in the Market Place end - street theatre, sing alongs and dance parties, lego play area etc etc. Love it!

It really is great for families on a budget. The kids love seeing the giant lego sculptures outside the Lego store plus building at the Lego stations and racing their cars down the ramps. There's also the toddler play area with a Lego slide. There's free entertainment at the Dock Stage, street performers and the ground fountains are a huge hit, especially with the little ones! You never know when and where the water is goint to shoot up. Once Upon a Toy allows the kids to build their own Disney-themed Mr. Potato Head and play at the tinker toy and Lincoln Log play stations.

I seem to remember that there is a place here to make your own Star Wars light sabre, but I can't remember exactly where it is. Can anyone else shed some light here?<:emb
