The big question is will Disney increase their prices this weekend? For the last 3 years Disney have increased the ticket prices on the first Sunday in August without any pre warning to stop people taking advantage of the old price. The thing is with the way the credit crunch is hitting park attendance will they do it this year? We will soon see.

I think it would be stupid if they did , according to sources in the U.S their numbers at the gate are way down, so hiking the price up would not be a good move.

Hard to say whether they will or not, but the admission has gone up considerably over the last few years. On our recent trip, I was so happy to have days left on our 10-day hoppers we bought a few years ago with no expiry. When I worked it out in my head, those turned out to be a really good investment! It's definitely the right move for anybody who plans to return (and pretty much everybody does)!

Well, here is the answer
Beginning Sunday, Disney World will increase the base price of a one-day, one-park ticket to $79 -- up $4, or 5.3 percent. The price of a similar ticket for a child between the ages of 3 and 9 will climb $5, or 7.9 percent, to $68.

Why shouldn't Disney increase their prices? They need to maintain their parks to the very high standard that we have all come to expect, and year on year, this costs more and more. So, therefore, they charge more.
As villa owners, we know that maintaining a home costs more each year so those who decrease their prices must either dip deep into their pockets to subsidise other people's holidays, or they must cut back on essential maintenance etc. If you have high standards in your rental home then you won't be cutting rates or heavily discounting as to do so would put your home at risk. Disney is the same. They know that they would start losing customers if their standards went down, and as the ultimate in good business sense they know that it would not serve them well to do so.
